The world’s first web browser was called WorldWideWeb

The world’s first web browser was developed by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN in France. The browser, which was then called, WorldWideWeb, ran only on the NeXT platform.

To differentiate between the software and the network, Tim Berners-Less later renamed the browser to Nexus.
