The word Karaoke comes from Japanese and means “an empty orchestra”.

OK. I understand why its an empty orchestra – the music’s there without vocals!
After experiencing tens of gut wrenching Karaoke sessions with friends and acquaintances, I would prefer “an empty orchestra” any day!
