John Carpenter who was the first to win the top prize on the US version of hit TV show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” hadn’t used a single lifetime until last question.
John used “Phone-a-Friend” on the final question to call his father, not to ask for help but to tell him that he had won the jackpot. So, in essence, he did’t use the lifeline as it was intended!
When he appeared on the show, John mentioned his occupation – IRS agent – for which he was playfully booed by the audience.
