The name of the world famous soft drink, Coca-Cola, is derived from Cocaine and Caffeine.

“Coca” comes from the coca leaves from which cocaine is extracted. “Cola” is from the kola nut, the source of caffeine. The “K” was changed to “C” for marketing.

The beverage originally had cocaine and caffeine. Cocaine was abolished from the recipe after about 16 years. Caffeine, however, is still added.

The Coca-Cola logo is one of the most recognised brand names.
