Cocaine was an ingredient in Coca-Cola for almost 16 years. The company stopped adding the hallucinogenic in the soft drink in 1903. At one time, each glass of CCoca-Cola had 9 milligrams of cocaine.
The “Coca” in the name, Coca-Cola, comes from Coca leaf extract. That’s the reason
coke is still referred to as “dope” in some parts of the US.
