Australian accent is because of alcohol

According to Dean Frenkel a lecturer of public speaking and communication at the Victoria University, the Australian accent is a result of the early settlers’ drunk drawl which was passed down to their children. The accent is, thus, attributed to the heavy consumption of alcohol by the immigrants.
