This male fish almost dissolves into the female

Fact - In some species of the anglerfish, the male is very small compared to the female. It permanently attaches itself to the gigantic female body and lives off her quite like a parasite. The female, thus, becomes a "self-fertilising hermaphrodite".

Apparently, the only function of the male is to produce sperm.
